July 2026: Open for Submissions!

We are pleased to announce that the CUNY Law Review is accepting submissions for Volume 30.2 of our journal starting July 1, 2026. Submissions will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and the solicitation period will remain open until selection is complete, likely early September 2026. Volume 30.2 will be published in Spring/Summer 2027. If you are submitting a manuscript, please also include a resume or CV.

About Us

The City University of New York Law Review (CUNY Law Review) is devoted to public interest scholarship. Our Editorial Board looks for depth of argument, a focus on marginalized peoples and systemic problems within legal systems, and a commitment to academic writing in the service of human needs. We seek out articles of metropolitan (NYC region), national, and international interest and aim to highlight authors from communities historically excluded from academia. We are invested in the social and material, not merely formal, aspects of the law: how it intersects with and impacts people’s lives.

Our journal contains three sections:

Executive Articles: Standard law review articles with a public interest focus; suggested length: 15,000-20,000 words, 200-400 footnotes

Public Interest Practitioner Section (PIPS): Law review articles researched and written by practitioners on problems of interest in their fields; suggested length: 12,500-20,000 words, 180-400 footnotes

Notes and Comments: Articles written by current law students; suggested length: 7,500-15,000 words, 150-300 footnotes
